What do people say about the accreditation?
“It is a timely and modern process, with lots of support to help us continually improve.”
“These days, I think most organisations recognise the importance of flexible working, but many are still working out what good looks like in practice. It isn’t one size fits all approach, it varies by business, role and the needs of a multigenerational workforce. The Flexible Workplace accreditation gives organisations a straightforward, practical framework and support to help them get there.”
“The accreditation helps us show we really care about people… and connect with like-minded organisations.”
“This accreditation supports better outcomes for employers and employees — particularly those in lower-paid roles, where flexibility can make a real difference to people’s lives.”
The Process
Our process is evidence-based, designed to give you a clear, accurate picture of your organisation — without creating unnecessary pressure on your team. We lead the process throughout.
1. Discovery Call
We start by understanding your organisation, your goals, and where you are on your flexible working journey.
2. Leadership Session
We work with your senior team to explore how flexible working supports your wider strategy.
3. Listening to Your Team
We gather honest feedback through a short staff survey and focus groups.
4. Evidence Review
We review your job adverts, website, and policies.
5. The Findings Report
You receive a clear, practical report highlighting strengths, areas for development, and key insights.
6. Findings Meeting
We talk through the findings and agree clear, prioritised next steps.
7. Ongoing Support and Development
- Access a practical toolkit of resources, including case studies, guides, and templates.
- Join a peer community to share experiences and learn from other employers.
- Benefit from regular check-ins to stay on track and maintain momentum.
Flexible Workplace Framework
We evaluate your organisation against a bespoke, best-practice framework built on 15 years of expertise and developed in collaboration with our Business Advisory Group. We look at four key areas:
Culture
Management & Leadership
Transparency & Communication
Impact
Who is this for?
This accreditation is for organisations that are already doing flexible working well and want to be recognised for it.
If you have a strong flexible working culture in place, this process helps you validate what’s working, identify any final areas for improvement, and gain independent recognition for your approach.
We work with you to evidence your success and award the accreditation, so you can confidently demonstrate your impact to staff, candidates, and stakeholders.
For organisations who are not quite ready to embark on the Accreditation journey, the Flexible Workplace Accelerator provides a guided route to get there.

How long does it take?
What’s the best way to get started?
How much work and time is involved from us?
That’s why we’ve designed this to be expert-led and employer-light.
We handle the data collection and analysis, you provide the access and the insight.
How do we know if this is right for us?
You don’t need to have everything in place and you don’t need to be doing this perfectly. The best thing to do is have a conversation with us. As a charity, we’ll always be honest about what’s right for your organisation — and won’t recommend anything that won’t work for your business and your people.
Flexible working is viewed differently across our organisation — we don’t think we’d get buy-in
If we decide to go ahead, how does it work?
• Understanding your current approach
