Lynda McCall

Lynda McCall is the Co-owner and Financial Director at Alba Facilities Services, a family-owned SME business based in Glasgow. She is a chartered accountant and has been jointly running the business for over 20 years. She is passionate about providing a great working environment and led the implementation of the company’s permanent four-day working scheme in 2023. She says that delivering the four-day working week for their team has been hugely rewarding, and seeing the team look happier and well-rested while performing to an even higher standard has underlined the importance of putting flexibility and employee wellbeing at the forefront of their business. As a mum of two, she knows the importance of flexibility in maintaining a healthy balance between work and family life.

Lynda McCall

Janette McAllister
Janette McAllister is owner and Managing Director of McAllister Litho Glasgow, a leading commercial printing company based in the heart of Glasgow and home to a team of 42. She is also the Chairperson of the Fizz and Fabulous charity committee, dedicated to raising vital funds for Childline and the NSPCC. Janette is married with two grown-up daughters Becki and Hannah and a black lab named Zak. In an industry where remote work is not practical, Janette is a strong advocate for flexibility in ways that genuinely work for both the business and its people. At McAllister Litho Glasgow, the team mainly operates on a three shift pattern of 3×12hour days, and Janette believes that true flexibility starts with open communication. She works closely with staff to understand individual needs, resolve challenges collaboratively, and create an environment where people feel supported, trusted, and able to thrive. For her, flexible working is less about location and more about working together to find solutions that respect both personal commitments and operational demands.

Stephen Currie

Stephen is the Managing Director at R and W Scott. He has over 30 years commercial experience, predominantly in the food & drink sector, holding a variety of key sales and leadership roles. Prior to joining R&W Scott 10 years ago, he worked as an interim consultant for several years to give him the flexibility required to help raise his twin boys with his wife Andrea. Having completed a successful management buy-out at R&W Scott in 2018 with his fellow directors, they then transitioned the business to 100% employee ownership in 2024. With this transition, the need for an open mindset and looking for solutions that work for both the employees and the business became even more pressing. For Stephen flexible working is about having an open mindset and not automatically adhering to ”generally accepted orthodoxies”. It means being prepared to consider alternative ways of working that benefit both the employee and the business

Hayden Feeney

Hayden is a senior HR leader with 20+ years’ experience helping organisations bring their people strategy to life and navigate change. For the past 16 years he’s been at Centrica—having joined for what was meant to be a six‑month project—and has since led HR teams across a range of businesses and portfolios, from Engineering through to Net Zero. During a major period of transformation, Hayden has been a trusted partner to senior leaders, known for turning strategic ambition into practical, people-centred action.

Hayden led the design of Centrica’s flexible working approach, championing a genuinely colleague-led model so teams could shape ways of working that were practical, sustainable, and built to last. The result was a clearer framework for how teams work at their best—strengthening trust and engagement at a challenging time. He sees the critical role that flexibility can play in attracting and retaining the best Talent – ensuring that Centrica remains as a real differentiator in this space
