What do people say about the accreditation?

“It is a timely and modern process, with lots of support to help us continually improve.”

“These days, I think most organisations recognise the importance of flexible working, but many are still working out what good looks like in practice. It isn’t one size fits all approach, it varies by business, role and the needs of a multigenerational workforce. The Flexible Workplace accreditation gives organisations a straightforward, practical framework and support to help them get there.”

“The accreditation helps us show we really care about people… and connect with like-minded organisations.”

“This accreditation supports better outcomes for employers and employees — particularly those in lower-paid roles, where flexibility can make a real difference to people’s lives.”

The Process

A clear, structured approach designed to give you meaningful insight, practical actions, and maximum return on your investment—without placing unnecessary demands on your team.

N

1. Discovery

We work with you to understand your organisation, objectives, and readiness for accreditation, ensuring a tailored and efficient approach.

N

2. Kick-Off Session

A facilitated session to familiarise you with the Flexible Workplace framework and accreditation process. During this session, we take time to understand your current flexible working approach, agree the key dates for your accreditation journey, and agree what information we will review to support the assessment. This ensures everyone starts aligned, clear on what’s involved, and confident about the next steps.

N

3. Listening to Your Team

We gather honest, high-quality feedback on employee experience through a short survey and a series of facilitated listening conversations. These include employee focus groups and/or one to one discussions, a dedicated one to one conversation with the CEO, and a session for people managers. This gives you a clear and well rounded picture of what’s really happening across the organisation.

N

4. Evidence Review

We will review relevant policies, practices and existing information against the Flexible Workplace framework. This includes both internal and external communications, such as your website, social media, job adverts and recruitment materials, to understand how flexible working is described, experienced and communicated in practice.

N

5. Insight Report

You receive a clear, practical report highlighting strengths, areas for development, and key insights.

N

6. Findings Meeting

We walk you through the findings and help you identify clear, prioritised actions. We also ensure you are fully equipped to maximise and showcase your accreditation—enhancing your employer brand and reputation, and positioning it as a powerful asset for attracting, retaining, and engaging your people.

N

7. Ongoing Support and Development

Your accreditation lasts for two years, with support to help you embed and build on your progress:

  • Access a practical toolkit of resources, including case studies, guides, and templates.
  • Join a peer community to share experiences and learn from other employers.
  • Benefit from regular check-ins to stay on track and maintain momentum.

Flexible Workplace Framework

We evaluate your organisation against a bespoke, best-practice framework built on 15 years of expertise and developed in collaboration with our Business Advisory Group. We look at four key areas:

We work with you to evidence your success and award the accreditation, so you can confidently demonstrate your impact to staff, candidates, and stakeholders.

For organisations who are not quite ready to embark on the Accreditation journey, the Flexible Workplace Accelerator provides a guided route to get there.

How long does it take?
Typically 6–8 weeks depending on your organisation.
What’s the best way to get started?
Join an information session or book a consultation — we’ll guide you from there.
How much work and time is involved from us?
We know that for many organisations, the idea of an “audit” can feel like a heavy lift.

That’s why we’ve designed this to be expert-led and employer-light.

We handle the data collection and analysis, you provide the access and the insight.

How do we know if this is right for us?
Most organisations we work with are already doing more than they think.

You don’t need to have everything in place and you don’t need to be doing this perfectly. The best thing to do is have a conversation with us. As a charity, we’ll always be honest about what’s right for your organisation — and won’t recommend anything that won’t work for your business and your people.

Flexible working is viewed differently across our organisation — we don’t think we’d get buy-in
This is not uncommon. We understand the barriers that can exist, and we’ll help you build the case and take this forward internally.
If we decide to go ahead, how does it work?
We’ll guide you through a structured, straightforward process including:
• Understanding your current approach
• Gathering insight from your team
• Reviewing how flexible working works in practice
