Flex in Lower Income Roles
We know flex can often be more challenging to implement in many lower-income roles and as working patterns change across sectors post-pandemic it is important that we investigate what can be done in lower-income roles to reduce the risk of something of a two-tier workforce of flex have’s and have nots emerging.
We interviewed eight people, seven of whom were parents, currently working in lower-income roles in Scotland, with a view to gaining understanding of their working lives and how flex can work for them, to identify the benefits and challenges of implementing greater, more authentic approaches to flex in their roles.
