What flex do you have?

I work around my family and tend to work very early in the morning when I most productive. I often work from home but we have office hubs in Glasgow and London that everyone has the option to work in too.

How did this flex come about?

I’d previously suffered from burnout, and a large part of this was working 10 hours in an office with three hours commuting on top. When I started my own business, I knew we would adopt a flexible approach. We implemented an asynchronous working methodology very early. This means we focus on outcomes and not hours worked per day.

What does this flex allow you to do outside of work?

My own way of working allows me to drop my daughter at school every day, something I could never do when I had to be at my desk for 8am. I also can exercise more consistently which improves the quality of my work and decision making.

What does your flex mean for your work and home life overall?

Working flexibly means I’m productive at work and I can still spend quality time with my family. That makes me happy. It’s quite simple really.
