This workshop is for manufacturing-related businesses and explores current challenges within recruitment and retention and digs deep into a potential solution – flexible working. The workshop will feature guest speakers offering practical ideas, a panel discussion, peer to peer learning and networking.
The labour market is tight and 35% of Scottish workers are currently looking to move job. Nine in ten (89%) workers in Scotland say flexibility is an important consideration in their decision so conversations about flex need to be on the table. We know flexible working is more challenging in frontline organisations, but we have not seen many examples where it has been possible to create more flexibility and new ways of working in our sector, so we will share examples of companies that have introduced greater flexibility – how they did it, why, and the impact.
Nikki Slowey and Lisa Gallagher, Co-Founders and Directors of Flexibility Works Scotland will lead our discussion on flexible working. Nikki and Lisa are Scotland’s leading experts in flexible working and have dedicated the past eight years to directly supporting and encouraging employers to create flexible workplaces.
Confirmed employer speakers will be: Almond Engineering, Aggreko, Soap Works and The Alex Begg Group who will share best practice from their businesses and there will be an opportunity for you to ask questions and discuss your thoughts with the group.
We want this to be an inspiring and practical event, so please come ready to share your ideas, current good practice, challenges and solutions to how more flexible working can transform your business and the work-life balance of your people.
